INTERNSHIPS

Vision Event Management (VEM) is full service event management company specializing in running events.  We manage and own events ranging from 200 person 5K’s to 20,000 person half marathons.  In 2010, VEM managed over 20 events that served over 100,000 participants in 7 States and 2011 looks to be even bigger.  VEM is based in Indianapolis but its reach extends to Chicago, Atlanta, Madison, Cleveland, Little Rock and a growing list of markets. To effectively cover this much territory and manage this many events, we need high quality support.  For this reason, VEM is committed to providing high quality internship opportunities. Interns will dive right in to the everyday activities of Vision Event Management, learn at a breakneck pace, travel, make real decisions and direct real events.  We hire highly talented and capable people and give them real responsibilities.

TYPES OF INTERNSHIPS
VEM focuses on two types of internship opportunities, Operations and Marketing.  Although interns focus on one of these areas, each intern will undoubtedly be exposed to and gain knowledge of all event management elements.   From an events creation to its marketing efforts and finally its flawless execution, interns will have the opportunity to be a part of the entire process at VEM.  We also encourage our interns to bring fresh ideas that enhance the experience of current participants or ideas to create a new event altogether. 

Operations Intern Opportunity - 2 Positions
Event management interns focus on the real nuts and bolts of the events managed by VEM.  If you like to problem solve and find realistic solutions that are a constant part of the event world, this is for you.  Duties include administration, logistics, participant services, registration, database entry and management, volunteer recruitment and management, equipment management, meeting planning, vendor orders and general support.

Marketing Intern Opportunity - 2 positions
Marketing interns have one main focus, turn creative and outgoing energy into more participants at VEM’s events.  Marketing interns participate in the planning, coordination and implementation of marketing and promotional activities for Vision Event Management and its events. Duties include grassroots outreach, on-line promotion, social media, entertainment recruitment and general support.

REQUIREMENTS
Graduate
Any student who has recently graduated from an accredited college or university or any student who is currently enrolled in or accepted to an accredited graduate school.
Undergraduate
Any undergraduate student who is currently enrolled or accepted to an accredited college or university.

Internship Timeframes
Long-term internships are preferred (9-12 months), but shorter term internships may be available on a case by case basis.  Short term internships are a minimum of three months.  Although VEM prefers full-time interns and feels that leads to the best experience, we are open to part-time opportunities.  Each internship differs and the time commitment will be agreed upon by VEM. All internships are unpaid.
