O'hare 5K on the Runway - September 25, 2016
packet pickup course info confirm entry charity partner donate volunteers faq

Frequent flyers may touch down at O'Hare, but here is your chance to be part of an elite few who get to plant your feet on the ground.  On Sunday, September 25th, join us as you can earn bragging rights by running on Runway 10R of Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, the world's busiest airport.  This one-of-a-kind 5K SOLD OUT early last year, so book your ticket now!

The 5K on the Runway offers great views of active runways and great photo opportunities for that perfect "Selfie"!  The junior pilots even have the chance to climb into the cockpit with a Kids Run.  Everyone will be able to party on the runway with a great post-race area with a United Airlines plane photo op, a touch-a-truck area to get up close and personal with airport equipment and many food and beverage vendors on-site as well.

This year's event benefits Cal's Angels, a pediatric care organization that provides financial assistance to the families of kids fighting cancer.

Parking Map

VERY IMPORTANT PARKING AND RACE SITE INFORMATION

The location of the O’Hare 5K on the Runway is on the Southwest side of the airport grounds.  The site is located off of Irving Park Road with the entrance  near Bensenville.  This location is a 15-20 minute drive from the terminal itself.  If you plan to bring public transportation to the terminal, please have a plan in place to get to and from the actual race site itself because there is not public transportation to this part of the airport.

There are two parking options available in this area.  It is very important you plan to arrive early to avoid any issues locating the site and parking. Traffic will be very heavy with over 4,000 participants trying to park.  We suggest carpooling to help with congestion. Parking location #1 is roughly a ¾ mile walk to race site.  Those being directed to location #2 MUST ride a shuttle to and from race site.  Again, allow yourself plenty of time to park and walk or ride to race site.  We highly recommend getting to race site at least 1 hour early.  There will be vendors, kids area, United Planes and touch a truck opportunities starting at 7:00am.
